In April, Audi debuted a new generation of its classic business saloon, expanding the A6 series. The new A6 Limousine sets standards in design and aerodynamics, bringing innovation and comfort to the premium executive class, evident in every detail. Its drag coefficient of 0.23 is the best-ever value for a combustion-engine production model in the history of the Audi brand. Modern petrol and diesel engines paired with the MHEV Plus mild-hybrid technology ensure increased efficiency and enhanced performance. The MHEV Plus system supports the combustion engine car, boosts performance and driving dynamics, and reduces CO2 emissions. The drives with the MHEV Plus mild‑hybrid technology play a major role in an exceptional driving experience. The MHEV Plus system supports the combustion engine, enhances performance and driving comfort, and reduces CO2 emissions. It also allows for fully electric operation when parking or manoeuvring. The A6 Limousine can also run on electric power in slow-moving traffic or during low-speed driving outside urban areas. In addition, the MHEV Plus technology generates up to 230 Nm of extra torque and up to 18 kW (24 PS) of power when starting off or overtaking. Up to 25 kW is recovered during braking.
Paired with sophisticated suspension technologies, the A6 Limousine excels in everyday and long-distance driving: both the optional adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering combine top-tier driving comfort with outstanding handling agility.
Sound insulation in the A6 Limousine has been enhanced by up to 30 percent compared to its predecessor, increasing driving comfort. Tightly sealed windows and optimised door seals ensure that the acoustics in the cabin is more pleasant, while the tailgate seal also significantly reduces wind noise. In addition, all tires from 19’’ upwards are equipped with so-called noise absorbers. The newly developed engine and transmission mount isolation ensure a smoother and quieter ride.
Elegance and dynamics: the exterior design
The body of the new A6 Limousine* is clear and functional. Its minimalist design combines elegance with sportiness. The key design feature is the curve of the upper edge of the side windows, flowing elegantly and dynamically from the front side windows to the fixed rear glass. This is typical Audi design, reflecting the aerodynamic body of the A6 Limousine*. Expansive surfaces paired with dynamic lines, which form the quattro blisters that powerfully emerge from the shoulder area, are key elements of Audi’s design DNA. These features, combined with the wide track, embody the sporty spirit of the car.
